The environment has become crucial in the era of global competition largely due to an international movement aimed at achieving sustainable development and global environment preservation, which has been strongly asserted by advanced nations.

Despite numerous attempts to focus on environmental restrictions in the past, very few improvements have been made, which clearly indicates use and disposal of a product is more important than how to produce the product.

The current trend, whereby advanced nations establish their regulations (RoHS, WEEE, EuP) to allow only those manufacturers that produce products responsibly and that are recyclable, which ultimately promote EU members¡¯ competitiveness. Given such a movement, producing environment-friendly products are indispensable to the manufacturers.
