Energy Management System
Energy management system is a system which grants European certification standard, BS EN 16001, which is a publicly recognized international certification for enterprises that sets an efficient energy consumption target and continuously improves the management system to achieve this. It is planned to be used for the establishment and improvement of greenhouse gas reduction target at our business site.

Carbon Result Mark
It is a system which the Ministry of Environment certifies since 2009 about the greenhouse gas emission amount of products. We are calculating the amount of greenhouse gas generated throughout the whole processes from extracting the raw materials through manufacturing and usage, and establishing the plans to reduce the amount. It is also expected to be expanded and have more certified products to lower greenhouse gas emission.

In October 2006, Samsung Techwin signed the Voluntary Agreement for Green Procurement to promote the production of environment-friendly products by increasing the industry’s environmental compliance in terms of procurement of materials used for production, production processes and distribution. By signing the Corporate Supporters Agreement for Wetlands in March 2007, Samsung Techwin made clear once again its commitment to the planet. We are making meaningful contributions to saving vanishing wetlands and actively cooperating for the successful hosting of the 10th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention to be held this year in Changwon. Our conservation activities are coupled with public information efforts to awaken the local community to the cause of endangered wetlands.

In June 2005, Samsung Techwin became a party to the Voluntary Agreement for Reducing Chemicals. To attain the goal of reducing chemical emissions from our plants by 50% by 2009, from the 2001 level (30% by 2007), we are implementing a variety of measures. Samsung Techwin is proud to be doing its part to protect people and the environment from the hazards of chemicals.
