Since 1996, all local workplaces obtained an ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ensuring the company’s strict implementation of environment policy and the transparency of environmental management with reliability from the customers, not to mention its compliance of relevant environment laws and regulations

The company was designated as an environment-friendly enterprise for its voluntary environmental management system and the efforts to improve the system. The company achieved a quantitative environment improvement goal, thereby successfully structuring a Green workplace.

A certificate for a safety health management system enhances the productivity and implements a systematic disaster prevention program to effectively protect people and property from industrial disaster, and constant follow-up management allows the company to build a disaster-free, disease-free and fire-free workplace.

On the back of effective energy conservation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the company’s efforts to enhance nation’s competitiveness, and achieve the joint goal of energy conservation in collaboration with the government such as voluntary agreement is underway.

Certification of Occupational Health &?Safety management System 18001

As we got a certification of OHSAS18001, we can manage steadily a risk which may occur in our company, moreover we could become building a system of improving environment of staff members in workplace. So we're doing our best making No.1 workplace by predicting a risk and managing both safety and health systematically

In October 2006, Samsung Techwin signed the Voluntary Agreement for Green Procurement to promote the production of environment-friendly products by increasing the industry’s environmental compliance in terms of procurement of materials used for production, production processes and distribution. To carry out our commitments in this agreement, we are making efforts at various levels, to encourage the use of environment-friendly products

By signing the Corporate Supporters Agreement for Wetlands in March 2007, Samsung Techwin made clear once again its commitment to the planet. We are making meaningful contributions to saving vanishing wetlands and actively cooperating for the successful hosting of the 10th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention to be held this year in Changwon. Our conservation activities are coupled with public information efforts to awaken the local community to the cause of endangered wetlands.

In June 2005, Samsung Techwin became a party to the Voluntary Agreement for Reducing Chemicals. To attain the goal of reducing chemical emissions from our plants by 50% by 2009, from the 2001 level (30% by 2007), we are implementing a variety of measures. Samsung Techwin is proud to be doing its part to protect people and the environment from the hazards of chemicals.
