A fast-developing industrial economy brought about a prosperous and convenient life for people, but ruthless competition, along with a development and expansion-oriented trend, has resulted in severe environmental damage such as exhausting resources, destroying the ozone layer and causing various natural disasters that have recently surfaced. The United Nations, in response to such risks, declared that sustainable development must consider the environment and concluded with international treaties that began a dominant global trade pattern.
To better deal with this global trend, Samsung Techwin¡¯s Plant #1 introduced the environmental management system. This was integrated into the business in 1996, and has eventually led to achieving the goal of developing and producing environment-friendly processes and products, as well as reducing environmental pollutants.
Our efforts will further continue for sustainable corporate management stressing business, social and environmental responsibilities. |
